EXCELSIOR SCHOOL

The Excelsior School District had been formed before 1869. The school was located in Excelsior Valley, which had been known as Copsey Valley until the school district was formed. The land for the school was given by Allan Copsey, and in 1869 there were 49 pupils in the school.

Later the Spruce Grove School District was formed from part of Excelsior district.

In February 1920 the Excelsior Valley School was merged into the Lower Lake Grammar School.
